1. The chaplain at Dalhousie who has been involved with all the CCO stuff I have been getting into this past winter, is leaving. I found this out the middle of April, but he formally announced it at church on Sunday, and my mom and brother had not heard. He wore jeans and sneakers under his robes so he could wear his traveling clothes. I’m not sure if he wanted it to be symbolic, or if it was really only about convenience. He said his truck was packed and he was heading off after mass.
I am sad to see him leave as well, but this same day our main pastor also gave the announcement that he was leaving. For many, what you call a double whammy. He was there when I first came to the church 2 years ago and I have really grown fond of him, so hate to see him go, but it sounds like he will most likely be studying theology in Rome, so his future surely looks bright.
2. This week DH and I bought a bike tow baby carrier. It was 20% off and I think ultimately it is a good investment for us since DH loves biking, I enjoy it also, and the baby loves riding in stroller etc, and being outdoors. It also has room for 2 kids, up to 50 pounds each, so I see us getting plenty of use out of it.

3. We decided to hire a painting crew to paint the apartment back. We found out on Tuesday night that the prospective new tenants did not like our color after all, and that we should try to get it painted back. I really had hoped we wouldn’t have to do that as I love the colors, but I’m pretty sure that is a call for detachment, and that I am just going to have to let them go.
However, with DH working the next 3 days it really didn’t seem practical for us to try to do it, so this seemed a better route. The price is reasonable and the guy said it’s probably 10 hours of work, and that’s with a team, so it would have been a huge job for us, not to mention we are not professionals as was apparent from our own paint job. Since this is a case where it has to be up to standard, it really is better that we get the professionals in.
4. It is May 30, and we still don’t have our renter. We’ve decided to pass on the other people because they can’t possibly meet the June 1st deadline (when if we don’t have someone else, our check will go through). They’ve had some rotten luck but we can’t keep waiting on them. I said a prayer for them today.
5. But we do have a viewing lined up for tonight. (ETA: Make that 3.) The carpet cleaners are there today but they should be done by this evening, so we will show the apartment then, still in it’s full bright colors. The painter is coming on Monday.
6. The other day I think I may have finally had my first craving with this baby. I really wanted a slushie lol. While it is not the most healthy thing, it is largely water, and maybe my body was telling me I needed some more liquids.
7. They’ve changed the rules so now you only get one support person for the ultrasound. My 2 main support people are my mom and of course my husband. My husband has declined going, so my mom will be taking me. I have mixed feelings on this. Regardless, they’ll have an angry pregnant lady on their hands if they try to do the same for the birth!
Edit: I asked DH about it and he said he knew I wanted my mom to go so that’s why he said he would stay behind. Still would have been nice if he told me that at the time though
