1. I posted up the photos from the sunshower in last week’s quick takes, and if you haven’t read it yet there is also a post about Cape Breton with pictures.
2. A little over a week ago baby had his first haircut. It was just a trim but it had been getting in his eyes.

3. Breaking Dawn – The last Twilight book.
At first it was good but then it started to get really strange, and I wasn’t so sure I liked it as much as the other. Luckily it got much better after that.
Once I got past the weird part it got much better. It seemed the author was tying up ALL the loose ends and answering all the questions the reader may have had throughout the series. Usually most books seem to leave you hanging about 1 little thing or another, but this one doesn’t seem to.
4. This week included 2 trips to Blandford.
Blandford- Fishcakes
DH asked to go down the Saturday night and since I was going to church with mom etc in the morning I stayed behind so he got some guy time. After church on Sunday we drove to Graves Island for the Veritas picnic, and DH met us there as it’s close to Blandford. We had beautiful weather and good food, it was a nice time for all.
After that DH, baby and I drove to Blandford to meet back up with DH’s friend and parents.
On Monday DH’s friend made fishcakes from the fish we caught. They are tasty with lots of seasoning and carrots and onions and potatoes. Plus, they freeze well, so I have easy protein for over a month of Fridays
DH doesn’t like fish-anything, so he made himself burgers over the fire

We came home late monday evening. We had to be home on tuesday fro DH to take the car in.
5.Then we went back Tuesday evening.
This time DH brought a different friend. We had heard the friend wasn’t going to be able to go but I guess at the last minute DH found out that had changed and we hurriedly packed up again.
When we got there we took the boat out for a drive as the sun was setting. We went up to deep cove and went into the cove after the sun was mostly gone. When we came back out it was probably about 10 o’clock and the moon was up. It was only a half moon but it still shed enough light to look very pretty.

The baby was getting cranky so we put him down for a nap/sleep in the cabin. It seemed as soon as we turned the motor back on he was out.

After our moonlit cruise we put baby in bed and then we all sat around the fire and DH and his friend had a few drinks.
The next day DH got up with baby but I slept in. They all went back up to deep cove to fish, but when there were no fish they decided to go swimming instead. Baby found it too cold to swim though, so he ended up having a nap instead. That afternoon we all went back, but baby still didn’t want to swim and the wind had picked up since they were there this morning so I declined as well. Had it been hot like it was when we were fishing off the wharf and things might have been different. As it was DH and his friend just went swimming themselves again. By the time we got back from that trip it was time to pack up and go.
At home we found out that the plan was to go to the beach. DH’s sister and her bf had come over for dinner (we knew this ahead of time, I think she originally came for cheesecake, but traded for ice cream cake instead
. ) So after supper we piled back into the car (they went in the van but DH and baby and I drove our car) and headed for the beach. It was foggy almost the whole way there-but not at the beach.

DH’s sister’s bf wanted to swim but the air was too cold for her, so DH went swimming a third time. Baby didn’t find this water too cold so he had a bit of a go as well, but the air was cold so after that he got bundled up and played in the sand.

7. Concert Sun – we’re gonna buy tickets at the door. I’m pretty sure ‘ll be up to it, but if it pours I may want to reconsider. I am actually hoping for it to be cloudy and a little cooler though, it seems another symptom of pregnancy is that your skin burns much more easily. I’ve been being careful this summer anyway, covering up and staying out of the sun and wearing sunscreen when I wasn’t-and still getting burned when baby is just fine :S.
